Product information
About
Terbicip Cream from Cipla contains Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal. The cream is used on the skin to treat a range of common fungal infections.
Uses
- Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
- Jock itch (tinea cruris)
- Ringworm (tinea corporis)
- Pityriasis versicolor
How it works
Terbinafine blocks an enzyme called squalene epoxidase, which fungi need to make their cell walls. Without it, the fungal cells weaken and die, clearing the infection from the skin.
How to take
Apply a thin layer to the affected area and a little around it as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily. Wash and dry the skin first. Continue for the full duration even if the rash looks better.
Side effects
- Mild burning or itching at the site
- Redness or dryness
- Peeling
- Rare allergic skin reaction
Precautions
For external use only; avoid the eyes, mouth and inside the nose. Keep the affected area clean and dry, and avoid sharing towels or clothes. Tell your doctor if the rash worsens or does not improve.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of reach of children.
