Product information
About
The Romsons IV Set Blue is a sterile, single-use intravenous infusion set used by nurses and doctors to give fluids and medicines into a patient's vein in a controlled drip.
Uses
- Giving IV fluids in hospitals and clinics
- Delivering injectable medicines as a slow drip
- Blood-component transfusion support setups
- Day-care and home infusion under medical supervision
How it works
The spike pierces the fluid bottle, fluid passes through the drip chamber where the rate can be counted, and the roller clamp on the tube lets the user adjust drops per minute. A connector at the end attaches to the patient's IV cannula.
How to take
Use only under a trained healthcare professional. The set must be opened just before use, primed to remove air, and connected to a fresh IV cannula. Discard after a single patient use.
Side effects
- Site swelling, redness or pain if fluid leaks under the skin
- Vein irritation with long use
- Risk of infection if sterility is broken
Precautions
Do not use if the pack is torn, wet or the expiry date has passed. Do not reuse on another patient. Air must be fully removed from the tubing before connecting to the patient. Dispose of as biomedical waste after use.
Storage
Store in a clean, dry place at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and sharp objects. Keep in the original sealed pouch until use. Keep out of reach of children.
