Place the scale on a flat, hard surface (not carpet or rug). Stand still in the centre of the platform with bare feet, arms relaxed, looking forward. Note the reading once the number is stable.

• Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth
• Avoid water, cleaners, or wet feet on the scale
• Do not jump on or drop the scale
• Replace batteries when the display dims (if digital)

Weigh yourself at the same time of day for a fair comparison, ideally in the morning after the toilet and before breakfast. A single reading is not a measure of health on its own; combine with diet, activity, and doctor's advice.

Keep on a flat, dry floor away from moisture and direct sunlight. Store upright against a wall if you need to move it aside.
