Meftal 500 from Blue Cross is a stronger-strength mefenamic acid tablet, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine widely used in India for pain and fever in adults.

• Moderate pain such as headache or toothache
• Menstrual cramps and heavy period pain
• Muscle and joint aches
• Fever in adults

Mefenamic acid blocks the enzymes that make prostaglandins in the body. These chemicals are responsible for pain, swelling and the rise in body temperature, so reducing them eases pain and brings down fever.

Take the tablet with food and a glass of water as prescribed by your doctor. Use the lowest dose that controls symptoms for the shortest time needed.

• Stomach pain or heartburn
• Nausea or vomiting
• Loose stools
• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Skin rash

Not suitable if you have active stomach ulcers, severe kidney or liver disease, or if you have had an allergic reaction to NSAIDs. Use with caution in asthma, heart problems and during pregnancy, and avoid mixing with other painkillers without medical advice.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in the original blister, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
