About this test
The Widal Tube Agglutination test is used to help diagnose typhoid fever. It detects specific antibodies (O and H) that are produced in response to infection with Salmonella typhi or Salmonella paratyphi. The test helps identify if a person has a current or recent typhoid infection, especially when symptoms like prolonged fever, abdominal pain and weakness are present.
