About this test
The Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TTG-IgA) test is used to help diagnose celiac disease, an autoimmune condition where the body reacts to gluten. This test detects IgA antibodies that are produced when someone with celiac disease eats foods containing gluten. A high level of these antibodies may suggest that the immune system is attacking the small intestine, which can lead to digestive issues and nutrient deficiencies.
