About this test
The Creatinine Phosphokinase (CPK-MB) test measures the level of an enzyme found mainly in the heart and, to a lesser extent, in skeletal muscles. It is commonly used to help diagnose a heart attack or muscle injury. High levels of CPK-MB in the blood usually indicate damage to the heart muscle, such as heart attack.
